Services for Charles H. Hester, 96, of Lebanon Junction, were held Saturday, Nov. 24 at 4 p.m. at Kappel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Nalley officiating.

Mr. Hester died Nov. 18 at University Hospital. A native of Lyon County, he was a graduate of Eddyville High School and attended Western Kentucky University. He was a veteran of World War II and served on the ships that escorted the supply convoys from New York across the Atlantic.

His parents were Horace and Birch Holsapple Hester.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Beverly Hester; three children, Scott, Carol, and Janet; and two brothers, Bob Hester and Hasi Hester.

Survivors are: two daughters, Connie Tackett and Penny Exline; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Bertie Slagle and Dollie Murphy.
