On Friday, Kentucky State Police arrested Elizabeth Jane Rogers of Lyon County on charges related to alleged fraud.
Rogers also reportedly uses the aliases Jane or Janie Egbert, Elizabeth J. Egbert, Janie Rogers, and Elizabeth Jane Egbert-Rogers throughout the community.
KSP was contacted in reference to Rogers' suspicious activity with several members of the community, which they believed may be criminal.
During the investigation, detectives reportedly learned Rogers had used her daughter, Kelley Egbert, and other relatives' personal information to secure financial loans without their knowledge or consent. They found that this had allegedly taken place on more than one occasion, with Rogers also forging documents as she operated the Smoke Shack in Eddyville.
Rogers was charged with six counts of theft of identity of another without consent and four counts of possession of a forged instrument- first degree.
She was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. Detectives believe additional charges are forthcoming as the investigation continues.
