He is responsible for four major areas:

2. Law enforcement

3. Election duties

4. Service to the court such as providing a bailiff

White has promoted the changing of the logo on police cars to make them easier to identify.

He has five uniformed deputies. There are also five court security officers.

There is a school resource officer and a need for another one. There is a part-time court security officer and a recently added position of chaplain for the department.

White is responsible for the development of a security procedure for the county in the event of some kind of disaster such as an earthquake.

He reminded the members that Lyon County has three prisons and there must be a plan ready to deploy if needed.

After a brief business discussion, the meeting was adjourned.
