A warrant was served on Eugene Shane Reid, 38, of Springfield, Illinois, for a charge of fugitive from another state.
Wednesday, Aug. 21
n A bench warrant out of Grayson District Court for failure to appear was served on Tabitha Lynn Redmon, 39, of Fredonia, at Western Kentucky Correctional Complex. The warrant lists fourteen underlying charges of theft by deception-include cold checks under $500.
n A criminal summons out of Marshall District Court for one charge of third-degree criminal mischief was served on William Thomas Kirby, 38, of Dawson Springs.
n A bench warrant for failure to appear out of Lyon District Court was served on Alan J. Haines, 39, of Kuttawa. Underlying charges listed on the warrant are one count each of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
n A complaint warrant out of Lyon District Court was executed on Joseph Daniel Knight, 39, of Drakesboro, with a charge listed of theft by unlawful taking all others $500 or more but under $10,000 (2 counts).
Thursday, Aug. 22
After receiving a complaint of a reckless driver on Interstate 24, a deputy with the Sheriff's Office reportedly came in contact with Jeffrey Thomas Parsley, 61, of Paducah, in a vehicle that fit the description the caller gave. The deputy reportedly observed Parsley's vehicle swerving and crossing into the emergency shoulder. Upon stopping the vehicle, the deputy observed the small of alcohol and other behaviors that suggested intoxication.
Parsley was arrested and charged with one count each of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, careless driving, and possession of an open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle.
Friday, Aug. 23
The Lyon County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic situation at Akridge's between a male and female subject. The female, Jessica Leigh Powell, 31, of Eddyville, reportedly left before the deputy's arrival. The male, Jake Cowan, told Eddyville Police he had been assaulted at Huck's truck stop by Powell, and that he was hit above his right eye with a screwdriver. Cowan was later arrested by Eddyville Police for a public intoxication charge.
Authorities eventually located Powell at a residence on KY 1055, where she reportedly admitted she and Cowan had gotten into a verbal argument at Huck's, and that she had thrown things, including a screwdriver, at him. Powell was arrested and charged with one count of fourth-degree dating violence (minor injury).
