Former Lyon County Sheriff William S. "Bill" White, grandfather of current Sheriff Brent White, prepares two children to head to the Kentucky Sheriff's Ranch around 1978.

The Kentucky Sheriffs' Boys and Girls Ranch still has room for five girls and five boys, ages 8 to 11, for their 2019 camp.

The Sheriffs' Ranch is located in Gilbertsville, near Kentucky Dam, and works toward the goal of improving children's self-esteem and moral character, and teaching them to respect themselves, others, and law enforcement professionals.

The girls will attend camp from June 30 to July 5, and the boys will attend July 7 through 12.

Anyone interested in signing their child up to attend camp at the Kentucky Sheriffs' Ranch can contact the Lyon County Sheriff's Office at (270) 388-2311.
