Last weekend, Land Between the Lakes invited visitors to join them for their 24th annual Hummingbird Festival, which coincides with the beginning of the great hummingbird migration through LBL each year.

On Friday evening, folks had the opportunity to have dinner with the hummingbirds before all of the other festivities kicked off Saturday.

Activities on Saturday included a hummingbird banding and release demonstration, the hummingbird photo contest awards ceremony, information on how to attract hummingbirds, and chances for those in attendance to learn more about all of the other wildlife kept at the nature station.

Arts and Crafts were on-hand for children to work on, and the Hummingbird Gift Shop was open for business for those who wanted to take home a memento by which to remember their experience.
