On Friday, the Lake Barkley Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the new Verizon location in Eddyville at 750 A West Fairview Avenue.

Owner Treston Smith purchased the property that most people in the town had known as the old Shell station, and then Smith transformed it from a vacant gas station into a pristine retail space.

Previously, the Verizon store was located on Newman Drive, next to Our Daily Bread.

The new location offers Verizon easier access and better visibility for customers.

They are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
