Trigg County High School senior softball player Logan Darnall officially signed with Rend Lake College on Monday.

She committed to play for the school's softball team beginning in August. Her parents and brother sat with her for the signing, along with her Trigg County coach, Tori McMain, and Rend Lake Head Coach Dave Ellingsworth.

Trigg County High School Athletic Director Matt Ladd welcomed family, friends and teammates to the event, held at the high school.

"This is an exciting time for our athletic department," Ladd said.

McMain said she is proud of Darnall.

"I have thought for a while now that she had the ability to play at the next level. She is a leader on the field and off," she said.

Ladd also thanked Darnall's parents for their dedication to Darnall and her sporting career.

Ellingsworth said Darnall is ready to play for Rend Lake.

"I could tell immediately that she could play at the next level," he said. "Her demeanor, attitude, in addition to her athletic abilities, was the type of athlete that fits very well into our program."
