Reader: Cothran attempting to push 'alternative facts'

HB 106, the so-called Bathroom Bill, was introduced by State Representative Richard Nelson. He is a Democrat. What Martin Cothran was attempting to do in last week's guest column was paint Democrats as the party of anything goes. His thinly veiled attempt to put forward alternative facts is shameful. While he never came out and said that the bill had been introduced by a person of one party or another, his implication was blatant.

His attack on the media is also wrong-headed. It follows the example of one who believes we should get our news from a Twitter feed. I like my local newspaper, and I like to be able to check facts when a statement is squirrelly.
