Funeral services for Willie Mae Bridges, 91, of Schererville, Ind., a native of Cadiz, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Goodwin Funeral Home, with Reverend Roy Marquess, Jr., officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Trigg Memory Acres. Goodwin Funeral is in charge of the arrangements.

Willie Mae Bridges passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Great Lakes Health Care in Dyer, Ind. Willie Mae was born July 29, 1927, in Trigg County, to the late Marvin Delbert and Elva Mae McCoy Dixon. She married Ritchie Bridges June 22, 1946, in Christian County. She was a homemaker and co-owner of the former Ritchie's Odds and Ends on Highway 68 West in Cadiz, and a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church in Trigg County. Willie Mae was a kind, gentle soul with a loving, compassionate demeanor. Her smile could melt any heart, and her laughter was truly contagious. She found beauty in all of God's creations. Her greatest joy was having her family around her. She cherished all and loved all, unconditionally. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.

She is survived by three sons, Richie Dale Bridges and Ronnie (Deborah) Bridges, both of Cadiz, and Bruce (Debra) Bridges of Merrillville, Ind.; one daughter, Linda (John) Venturella of Schererville; two brothers, Lacy "Boots" Dixon of Princeton, and Don (Lawon) Dixon of Cadiz; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ritchie Smith Bridges; her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Mae Bridges; one brother, Marvin Glenn "Babe" Dixon; one grandson, John Evan Venturella; and one great grandson, Ryan Cummings.
