Martha Jean Nunn Travis, 89


Graveside services for Martha Jean Nunn Travis, 89, of Hopkinsville, a native of Trigg County, were held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at East End Cemetery, Main Street in Cadiz, with Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Martha Jean Nunn Travis passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Western State Nursing Facility in Hopkinsville. Mrs. Travis retired from Elk Brand Manufacturing in Cadiz where she worked as a secretary for over 30 years. She was a member for 70 years of the Order of the Eastern Star, Linton Chapter 149 and Cadiz Ophelia Chapter 55, and served as secretary and past Worthy Matron. Jean was a member of Linton United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons, John Ben (Kathy) Travis of Hopkinsville, Edmond (Alisha) Travis and Stan (Sherrill) Travis, both of Clarksville, Tenn.; one daughter, Betty (Donald) Boyd of Gracey; ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe E. and Erline Carr Nunn; her husband, Randolph Travis; one daughter, Sherry Travis Harris; and one sister in infancy, Elizabeth Josephine Nunn.
