Funeral services for Edward E. Harper, 84, of Cadiz, a native of Golden Pond, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Burial will follow in the Dixon Cemetery in Land Between the Lakes. Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the funeral home.

Edward E. Harper passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. Mr. Harper spent the majority of his career self-employed in the transportation industry in the Evansville area and also served in the Army National Guard. After retiring, he returned to Trigg County, where his passion became farming. He was a true conservationist and steward of the land on which he managed his cattle livestock operation. Edward was a Shriner and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Evansville.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beverly Harper of Cadiz; one son, Jeff (Lisa) Harper of Henderson; one daughter, Marsha (Tracy) McPherson of Cadiz; and one sister, Hazel Greenber of Chandler, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvie Bryan and Allie Jones Harper; one daughter, Sherry Ann Harper; one brother, Othel "Bud" Harper; and two sisters, Ardith Evelyn Harper and Helen Joyce.
