The Cadiz City Council held its monthly meeting Feb 5 and voted to move the downtown farmer's market back to the original location next to the Renaissance Stage in Downtown Cadiz. The decision comes after some complaints that the location across from the I.G.A. building drew people away from the businesses downtown.

The council also decided to put the old Cadiz Fire Department building up for sale. The council will take sealed bids for the purchase of the building.

The council also heard an update from the director of the Southwestern Kentucky Economic Development Council (EDC), Mark Lindsey. Lindsey talked about what the EDC is doing to bring industry to Trigg, Christian and Todd counties. They have launched a new website and created a recruiting video to attract industry to the area.

Cadiz Police Chief Chad Grace gave his report along with Jeff Hunter with the Parks and Recreation Board.

The next meeting of the Cadiz City Council will be March 5.
