LEXINGTON -- The Marshall County Track and Field returned to the KHSAA Class AAA State Track and Field competition in Lexington this year and returned with two top finishers and four additional top 10 placements.
Tori McCracken continued to dominate in girls high school high jump. She defended her title and took her second state gold medal last Saturday at a height of 5'06" tying her current best.
Ninth-grader Cade Flatt took second in the boys 800 meter run with a time of 1:53.62, earning a new personal best and new record time for MCHS. He finished behind senior Luke Spurrier from South Warren by 1.37 seconds and 2.83 seconds in front of senior Eoin Corbett from St. Xavier (Louisville).
Ninth-grader Will Davis finished 10th in the boys 400 meter run with a time of 51.40.
Davis, Sean Janiec, Drew Coleman, and Jackson Miller placed 10th in the boys 4x400 with a time of 3:31.64.
McCracken, Leah Vincek, Jordyn Reed, and Tori Ford placed eighth in the girls 4x400 relay with a time of 4:11.29.
Sydney Temple took 10th place in girls pole vault at a height of 9'06".
