Charles E. Irvan


Mr. Charles E. Irvan, 81, of Kirksey (Golo Community), passed away July 8, 2019, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.

Born Thursday, January 13, 1938 in Obion, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Dewey Irvan and the late Edith (Turner) Irvan. He worked for 61 years as a tire technician and 51 of those years with Marshall County Tire in Benton.

He was a member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ in Golo where he served as treasurer, song leader, deacon and was an active elder in the church.

Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Lucy S. Irvan, sons, Dwayne Irvan, wife Michelle of Mayfield, James Payne of Mayfield, daughters, Tammy Irvan of Golo, Sharla Payne of Mayfield. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Dustin Irvan, Dalton Irvan, Dylan Irvan, Jessica Baldez, Simon Lee, Maegan Lee, Khourey Toon and Bradley Pretredis. Twelve great grandchildren; Mia Irvan, Riley Irvan, Audrie Lee, Hunter Lee, Nathan Lee, Corey Toon, Jace Toon, Ellie Toon, Zoe Pretredis, Kristin Baldez, Conner Baldez and Dominique Baldez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 37 years, Carolyn Jean (Nichols) Irvan; son, Edward Irvan and brother, Wilson Irvan.

Funeral services were held July 12 at Collier Funeral Home in Benton. John Sales officiated. Interment followed the service at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Golo.
