A bowling group for senior citizens meets at 1 p.m. each Tuesday at Corvette Lanes in Murray. The cost is $10 for 3 games. For more information contact Nancy Rubin at 270-474-8366.

June 14

Flag Day ceremonies will be held at 6 p.m. at the Benton location of the Marshall County Public Library, 1003 Poplar Street. Retired Captain Fred Ahrens will be the featured speaker and Scout Troop #422 will demonstrate proper folding of the flag. Calvert City American Legion Post 236 and the Patriot Guard Riders will also participate in the ceremony.

June 15

Palma United Methodist Church will host a country ham and sausage breakfast from 6:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. Meals are $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children ages 7 to 12. Kids 6 & under eat free. The church is located on U.S. Highway 68 approximately two miles west of Draffenville. Carryouts are available.

June 17

The American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive from 12:30-4:30 p.m. The church is located at 1532 US Hwy. 68 West.

June 22

The Humane Society of Marshall County will host 4 Miles 4 Paws Benefit run/walk at Kenlake State Resort Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $20 and the first 100 to sign up will receive a medal and a t-shirt. Preregistration can be completed at the Humane Society Mondays or Thursday-Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Call 270- 354-8738 for more information.

June 22

The Grand Lodge of Kentucky Free and Accepted Masons is hosting a veterans recognition meal at 3 p.m. at the Lee S. Jones County Park, 510 State Route 93 S, Eddyville, KY 42038. All veterans and their families are welcome and invited to attend and enjoy a free meal in appreciation of their service.

June 24

There will be a meeting of the SBDM at Central Elementary School at 3:30 p.m. The school is located at 115 Jim Goheen Drive in Benton.
