The American Red Cross bill sponsor a blood drive at the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, 52 Judicial Drive, from 10 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

June 6

A flower preservation workshop will be held at Marshall County Extension Office, 1933 Mayfield Hwy. in Benton from 5-8 p.m. There will be a $15 materials fee. Call 270-527-3285 to register.

June 8

St. Matthew By the Lake will host a community country breakfast from 7-9 a.m. The menu includes biscuits and gravy, eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, country and city ham, pancakes, coffee, milk and orange juice. Adults eat for $5, children for $2.50. The church is located at 3966 US Hwy. 641 North.

June 9

The American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive at Olive Missionary Baptist Church from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The church is located at 4611 Olive Hamlet Rd.

New Bethel Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School from 6-7:30 p.m. for kids preschool - high school age. Registration starts at 5:45 p.m. Sunday night and a meal will be served. June 10

The Marshall County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. at Republican Headquarters on the Benton Court Square. Morgan Alvey, a member of Senator McConnell's staff, will be the guest speaker. Plans will be discussed for a fall fundraiser and a light lunch will be served.

June 17

The American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive from 12:30-4:30 p.m. The church is located at 1532 U.S. 68 West.

June 22

The Humane Society of Marshall County will host 4 Miles 4 Paws Benefit run/walk at Kenlake State Resort Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $20 and the first 100 to sign up will receive a medal and a t-shirt. Preregistration can be completed at the Humane Society Mondays or Thursday-Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Call 270- 354-8738 for more information.

The Grand Lodge of Kentucky Free and Accepted Masons is hosting a veterans recognition meal at 3 p.m. at the Lee S. Jones County Park, 510 State Route 93 S, Eddyville, KY 42038. All veterans and their families are welcome and invited to attend and enjoy a free meal in appreciation of their service.

June 24

There will be a meeting of the SBDM at Central Elementary School at 3:30 p.m. The school is located at 115 Jim Goheen Drive in Benton.
