It's time to manage that pile of clutter in the garage before the holiday parties begin. Gather it all up and get it curbside by Monday at 7 a.m. for the annual City of Benton Fall Cleanup event.

Benton residents must have items for pickup set out by 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9. City workers will make their way through the city picking up items all week, ending Friday, Sept. 13. Once a crew has gone down a street, they will not return and residents would then be responsible for disposal. City officials also ask residents not to set out items prior to the weekend before Sept. 9.

Items must be placed curbside and the load no larger than one pick-up truck load per household; the load must also be easily handled by two people. Do not leave containers with the pile that you do not want hauled away.

Items excluded from pickup: limbs, yard waste, large appliances, air conditioners, batteries, tires, paints or hazardous chemicals.
