Services for Captain Gerald R. Boggs, 70, of Eddyville, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, at Lakeland Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Eddyville with the Rev. Harry Todd officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 6, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Boggs died Wednesday, May 2, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. He was a retired river boat captain with American Electric Power, a Christian and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

His parents were Bernard and Mildred Lilly Boggs.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Mae Bowman.

Survivors are: a daughter, Stacy Chappell, Grand Rivers; two sons, Bryan Boggs, Eddyville and Gerald Richard Boggs, II, Paducah; two sisters, Betty Burge, Ravenswood, W.V., Judy Boggs, Gallipolis, Ohio; two brothers, Pete Boggs and Howard Boggs, both of Selmer, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
