Marshall County’s basketball Marshals won an important district contest, but suffered a pair of losses in a five-day stretch Jan. 5-9.
HARTFORD – Marshall County defeated Ohio County on Wednesday and then lost in overtime to powerful Warren Central on Thursday in the PBI/Danny Annis Tournament at the Ohio County gymnasium last week.

DRAFFENVILLE – Special Olympics basketball teams from Owensboro and Hopkins County won championships in Saturday’s Holiday Classic tournament at Marshall County High School.

MURRAY – Christian Fellowship claimed the District 4 volleyball championship with a 3-1 win Tuesday, Oct. 17, over Marshall County at Murray High’s David Taylor Gymnasium.
The volleyball teams of Marshall County and Christian Fellowship had a reversal of fortunes last week, with the Lady Marshals getting two straight victories and the Lady Eagles suffering two losses in a row.
MURRAY – One school of thought is, “The best defense is a good offense.” That was true for Marshall County Friday night, as the Marshals outscored Murray 52-35 for their third straight victory of the season.
MURRAY – Skyler Smith threw four touchdown passes for the second game in a row to lead Marshall County to a 49-7 victory over Calloway County Friday night at Jack Rose Stadium.
DRAFFENVILLE – A flurry of touchdowns, including a 91-yard touchdown reception and a 38-yard interception return by Lucas Nichols, powered Marshall County to a 55-24 victory over Ballard Memorial Friday night in the Hall of Fame football game at Carroll Traylor Stadium.
DRAFFENVILLE – Big plays kept things even for a half and interesting after halftime, but a Madisonville-North Hopkins rushing attack proved too much for Marshall County to handle.
FORT CAMPBELL – It had been 43 years since the first football game between Marshall County and Fort Campbell. The result this time was a little closer, but the winner was the same – the Falcons.
COLUMBIA, Tennessee – Marshall County, with four state titles in four years of competition in Tennessee Interscholastic Cycling League competition, will try to extend the streak to five in a row this year.
